The Sindh Local Government Commission (SLGC) has called upon City Nazim Naimatullah Khan to appear before the commission over alleged manipulation in allocation of plots.

According to the ruling of the commission, the city Nazim has to appear before the commission within 10 days to clarify the situation pertaining to allocation of plots on Nullah, commonly known as Americano in Saddar Town.

The commission in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Advisor to Chief Minister for Local Government Waseem Akhtar on Saturday took the decision after discussing the inquiry report about the allotment of plots.

The commission also took up the complaint against the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Nazim and pointed out that due to financial irregularities committed by the Gulshan-e-Iqbal TMA, SLGC advised the city Nazim for external recall of the Town Nazim.

The commission noted that instead of taking any action, the city Nazim was delaying the matter and decided to issue a final reminder to him in this regard.

The commission further taking action against Nazim UC-I, Mominabad, Orangi Town, UC-6, Ghanibabad, UC-3, Saudabad of Malir Town and UC Nazim Nasir Colony, Korangi Town on different complaints, decided to freeze the UC accounts and issue show-cause notices to them.

The commission also took notice of misappropriation of Rs 7.7 million by UC, Dhabeji, and non-payment of bills of contractors by Town Municipal Administration (TMA), Malir and ordered detailed inquiries of these cases.

On another complaint against UC-8, Jet Lines, Jamshed Town, the commission asked the city Nazim to take action against the UC Nazim for an external recall.

Besides, looking into the affairs of local government of Karachi, the meeting also brought other local government issues belonging to different parts of Sindh under discussion and reviewed several reported complaints against them and took various types of disciplinary actions against them.

Other matters taken up in the meeting included illegal allotment of agriculture land by Kandiaro TMA, illegal transfer/postings by Mithi Zila Nazim, illegal recovery of cattle pen tax by Jhudo TMA, complaints against sub-office, Dhoro Nero, Taluka Nazim, District Badin, UC Nazim, Mirpurkhas, and Nazim UC-8, Rangiwara, Lyari Town.
